In August 1996, Pastor Tony Rapu the then Pastor of RCCG Freedom Hall (Apapa family) announced the creation of several new parishes amongst which was RCCG, Jesus Centre Parish. The mandate was simple – Go and impact your neighborhood!
RCCG Jesus Centre is an Area Parish under Province 4 within the Apapa Family under the leadership of Pastor Tony Epelle, while Pastor Sola Aliu serves as the Pastor in Charge of Parish. The vision of RCCG Jesus Centre is to be a Centre that would impact the neighborhood positively
The Pastors Professor Yemi and Dolapo Osinbajo were appointed Pastors of the new church and they were accompanied by Pastors Wande Banwo, Angela Onwuka, Jide Famuyibo, Chudi Ubosi, Toye Abioye etc. Of course all the “missionaries” were to be accompanied by their families – wives, children etc.
The church rented a property at No. 69 Ademola Street, off Awolowo road Ikoyi and started service on the 1st of September 1996 with the main church on the ground floor of the building whilst the children’s Sunday School was held on the upper floor.
